Staay Food Group will soon also be able to supply Brazilian melons from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms . Our permanent cultivation partner in Brazil has already successfully undergone the audit to achieve this certification. This means that in addition to the complete cultivation from Costa Rica, our own brand Dulce melons will soon also be available from Brazil carrying this sustainable certification label.
Shortly after the start of the Brazilian melon season, Staay Food Group can supply the varieties Galia, Cantaloupe, yellow and watermelon (seedless and quetzali) produced and certified sustainably.
The Rainforest Alliance is the international nonprofit organization that works to conserve biodiversity and promote the rights and welfare of workers, their families and communities. The Rainforest Alliance Certified seal means that growers are required to follow more sustainable agricultural practices that promote safe working conditions, sustainable livelihoods, care for the environment and nature conservation. It can be found on products such as coffee, tea, fruit and more.
Top certification mark
The Rainforest Alliance Certified label has been assessed as a ‘top certification mark’ by the environmental information organisation MilieuCentraal because of its high score on control, transparency and sustainability. With the cooperation of the Dutch Nutrition Centre (Voedingscentrum) and other experts, 11 top quality labels have been awarded in the Netherlands. They score the highest in the areas of control, transparency and the environment, animal welfare or people and work.
With the expansion of our Rainforest Alliance Certified fruit range, Staay Food Group is taking another important step towards a future with optimal availability of sustainably grown food.
