{"id":9586,"date":"2023-12-29T09:59:40","date_gmt":"2023-12-29T09:59:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.staayfoodgroup.com\/year-end-interview\/"},"modified":"2024-01-11T06:04:30","modified_gmt":"2024-01-11T06:04:30","slug":"year-end-interview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.staayfoodgroup.com\/en\/year-end-interview\/","title":{"rendered":"Year-end interview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This month, trade magazine &#8216;Primeur\/Freshplaza&#8217; published an interview with two of our board members: Dammis van der Staay and Matthijs Vlasblom.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How was 2023 for you in your business and private life? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Matthijs: &#8220;It\u2019s been a good year in which we managed to achieve substantial growth in both volume and sales.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dammis: &#8220;Moreover, I\u2019ve been in the midst of winding down my activities and handing over to the new management team. As a family, we chose to continue the business with a new management team, which has been in place for about a year now. The family is pleased with the way things are currently going.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the biggest challenges facing your business? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dammis: &#8220;Cost increases compounded by regulatory pressure. That\u2019s a huge challenge.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Matthijs: &#8220;Product availability (climate change!) and staff shortages also play an important role. After the pandemic, market shortages were really problematic, but now we\u2019re back to a good level. However, there are still certain positions that are difficult to fill.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What will you definitely be doing differently in 2024? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Matthijs: &#8220;We\u2019re satisfied with the past year. We\u2019ll continue the course we have set into 2024.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who should we really interview in Primeur in the new year?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A politician from the Hague.
