22-12-2021 Ron de Greeff will step down in March 2022 as Staay branch manager Venlo (formerly Staay-Van Rijn). The management of Staay Food Group has appointed Michiel Geraedts as successor. De Greeff will step down after almost 23 years because he has reached retirement age.
Ron de Greeff (66) started his career in the agricultural sector in 1979 after which he joined the MT of the then Langfruit in 1999. In 2013, Langfruit/Van Rijn was taken over by Staay Food Group. De Greeff remained in his position, guided the integration and ensured continuity with the customers. "The successful integration with Staay Food Group and the completion of the new Staay building at Fresh Park Venlo are very memorable moments for me. I am proud of what we have achieved; a huge and year-round assortment, strong clientele, excellent supplier network and a good team to make it happen every day. This is a good moment to say goodbye to a fascinating industry, great colleagues and relationships. I wish Michiel every success; I hand over the baton to him with confidence.
Dammis van der Staay, Managing Director of Staay Food Group: "Ron de Greeff has been at the basis of our expansion in the foodservice and German market. We thank Ron for his commitment all these years. With Michiel Geraedts we think we have found a competent successor."
Michiel Geraedts (43) was active in the past as a consultant in the agrifood sector. First at the Limburg Agricultural and Horticultural Union (LLTB) and its subsidiaries Arvalis and Roba and then as an independent entrepreneur. Before that, he held various commercial management positions at companies including Royal Zon, WP Haton and Flora Holland. "There was an immediate click with the management of Staay Food Group. Everything breathes the dynamism of a down-to-earth, dynamic company with a fighter's mentality and room for development, fun and entrepreneurship. I love the dynamics that characterise the AGF sector. I am looking forward to strengthening the organisation with my experience, energy and fresh perspective."
Michiel Geraedts will complement the existing Management Team of Staay Venlo. From March 2022, the MT in Venlo will consist of René Bressers, Wim van der Staaij and Michiel Geraedts.
