The United Nations has named 2021 the International Year of Fruit and Vegetables. This year will focus extra attention on the importance of healthy, sustainable food for everyone. Today, on World Health Day, the Dutch National Fruit and Vegetable Action Plan (NAGF) and the Food Cabinet will kick off the 'Geef kleur door' campaign as part of this special UN year.
Staay Food Group is one of the initiators of the 'Geef kleur door' campaign. This campaign has led to the launch of a political group in The Hague which lobbies for healthier nutritional surroundings. Campaigns will also be carried out over the next 6 months to ensure that fresh fruit and vegetables are available in more and more places across the Netherlands.
They are incredibly important for our health, protect us against viruses, and contribute to a more sustainable diet. The more fruit and vegetables we see around us, the more we eat. But currently our surroundings mainly encourage unhealthy choices. That is why our campaign is calling on local authorities, organisations, companies and consumers to ensure that fruit and vegetables are always available for everyone everywhere.
This campaign is urging the Netherlands to launch initiatives that will make fruit and vegetables more easily available. Creating a healthy and sustainable world.
