Start of Brazilian melon season

First yellow melons on their way

The overseas melon season is upon us again! At the end of week 34/beginning of week 35, we can expect to receive the first yellow melons from Brazil. Other varieties such as Galia, cantaloupe, watermelon and Piel de Sapo followed shortly afterwards.

From week 36/37, we can expect a plentiful supply of all varieties of melons. Prospects are excellent: the growing season in Brazil has been particularly successful this year. Our cultivation partner Mata Fresca therefore has high hopes for the harvest – in terms of both volume and quality.

Like any other year, our melons are supplied exclusively under our house brands DULCE and NERO. This is the same for both domestic and international markets. It means that this season we can again guarantee optimum quality and full traceability.

Brazilian supply continues until about week 10. After week 10, our growing facility in Costa Rica takes over.
